Red Rocks Open Space is a special place - especially for mountain bikers. This dig day helps local Ranger, Emma Stonesmyth, achieve her priorities in restoring some wooded sections of the C-Line bike park by eliminating some social paths created by park users. As riders of this space, we have a duty to steward our recreation resources well and this day accomplishes that goal. The ecosystem in Red Rocks Open Space is particularly fragile. Park users who step off trails end up killing grasses and shrubs which take years to regrow. Less social trails means this area is better preserved for future riders.
