Board of Directors

For many, mountain biking is a past time; for us it's a way of life.

Our Board of Directors is made up of eleven members from different areas within Colorado Springs. Each member shares a passion for mountain biking as well as for their willingness and desire to help this city move forward with better recreation opportunities.

Meet our board.

  • I have been riding mountain bikes since I was 9 years old. Think back to the days of cantilever brakes, rigid forks and when Onza bar ends were the ultimate flex. Originally from central Illinois, Colorado Springs has been my home since 2004. I have been fortunate enough to ride my mountain bike on three continents and most of the Western US and Canada. My vision is to bring what I have seen abroad to the greater Pikes Peak region. We have such a beautiful resource in our forests and open spaces. With thoughtful and deliberate stewardship, our region could be a world class mountain biking destination.

He started riding in the 90's in Garden of the Gods and Goose Gossage. In the early 2000's he was introduced to trail work in Ute Valley, and rebuilding the dirt jumps at Goose Gossage. Recently he has been involved with efforts at Pulpit and Ute Valley. He is excited to see the advancement and growth of trails in the Colorado Springs area.

  • Colin is a Colorado Springs native with two teenage daughters and a wife who is a UCCS Instructor. He has always loved things with two wheels – in the 90s he grew up riding enduro motorcylces on trail 717 in Teller County, and fell in love with trails at that time. After his daughters were out of diapers, he got his first full suspension bike (a Yeti 575) and has been passionate about mountain bikes ever since. Colin loves to grab a lunch ride in North Cheyenne Canyon, is always down for a big endurance day with friends, and even likes the occasional day at the bike park. He is excited about giving back to the sport that has given him so much joy, and for the vision this organization brings to the Colorado Springs trails.

She believes long hours in the saddle can cure all things, and she thrives on the human connection of community building through bikes. Riding cross country, downhill, no gears, fat bikes, gravel and the occasional road, Jaclyn values continued diversity in our trail systems, but she mostly seeks out downhill AND uphill tech. • Carl and his wife moved to Colorado Springs in the early 2000’s. Mountain biking became an interest in college and grew to a passion over the past two decades. Mountain biking is Carl’s source of community, health, wellbeing, and even creative space. Group rides are his jam, but he is also known to beat the crowds and get to the top of Jack’s at sunrise. When not enjoying our local trails he loves exploring other mountain biking destinations, places like Moab, Bentonville, Fruita, Crested Butte, Sedona, Bellingham, and Whistler. The list of places to visit is always growing.

Each place has provided insights into how we can take our local trails to the next level and highlighted the unique opportunity that we have in the Pikes Peak region. He truly believes we have a responsibility to be a healthy partner in the stewardship and development of our local trails to ensure we meet the needs of our growing city and the next generation of mountain bikers.

  • Growing up around the world, Joe fell in love with big mountains at an early age while living abroad. Inspired by the 1986 movie Rad, his early days were spent on a BMX, and 10 years later was bitten by the trail bug when a friend showed him an issue of Mountain Bike Action. Originally from Montreal (yes, Canada), he moved to the Pikes Peak region first in 2006, and while family obligations pulled him away for a few years, he returned in 2015. Joe has been involved with multiple facets of the mountain bike world over his life, including racing everything from downhill to 24-hour races, working in the bike industry, being a product developer, and building trails in multiple countries, including the original Red Rocks Open Space bike skills park.

  • Arkansas native who found her passion for mountain biking when she moved to Colorado in 2016. She started mountain biking out of curiosity. Now it is part of her lifestyle and a way for her to express herself. Nikki is a member of a group called The Black Foxes - an international collective of eight Black cyclists advocating for making cycling and the outdoors better for those already present and those who do not have the tools to access cycling. She participated as a ride guide for WMBA and had the opportunity to teach inner city kids to ride bikes. In 2022, she attended She Digs: A Women’s Trail Building Retreat which has shown her a different perspective on mountain biking as a way to give back to her local community through trail stewardship. When she’s not caring for patients and helping them obtain a beautiful smile, she enjoys sharing her passion by hosting group rides, and advocating to create inclusive spaces for BIPOC folks to try mountain biking and change their mentality towards it.

I believe it is our responsibility to be good stewards of our current trail networks by sharing, building and maintaining the amazing trails we have in our community with all users so everyone can experience and enjoy them.
