Bear Creek Canon: new Trail Construction day 2

  • Bear Creek Nature Center 245 Bear Creek Road Colorado Springs, CO, 80906 United States (map)

Join the City of Colorado Springs and COSMBA for the second dig day and help finish construction of a new accessible trail at Bear Creek Canon Park. Parking will be in the overflow lot at Bear Creek Nature Center: enter the nature center parking lot, continue on dirt road turnoff, drive behind the nature center, and past the pavilion. Please remember to bring snacks, gloves, closed-toe shoes, rain jacket, and sunscreen. Registration Required.

This is a very unique project in Colorado Springs, and one we are excited about! The Trailability Program is hosted out of Bear Creek and Fountain Creek Nature Centers. Soon, it will also be available in northern El Paso County with the addition of the Fox Run Nature Center. Since it began in 2022, the goal has always been to ensure that all have access to the outdoors, no matter their ability level. The program has become a leader in our region as more parks create similar programs such as the City of COS in Red Rock Canyon Open Space utilizing track chairs and the Cheyenne Mountain State Park utilizing Terrain Hoppers as well.
